Clients appreciate Adam Link's special
connection to the area and they benifit
from his unique insights.

It’s a heritage that is impressive by any definition. Local businessman Adam Link is carrying on a family legacy of making a difference in the community, of being driven to make positive things happen. It’s an ideal and a mindset that dates back to 1750, when one of Adam’s ancestors, John Adam Link, played an instrumental role in building what were originally British Colonies into the great country America is today.

Roots in Jefferson County
It’s no wonder Adam feels such a connection to this region he has grown up in. His roots go back over 250 years! He can trace his family’s history throughout the growth of the Jefferson County area. Adam has heard rich stories of his family’s past. There’s the story of a 102-year-old Adam Link (1761-1864), who grew up during the American Revolution, and saw his great grandson march off to the Civil War.

There Are No Weak Links
The Adam Link of today is the eighth Link in a family dating back to 1750 whose combined entrepreneurial spirit has pursued the American Dream even before there was an America. His ancestors were savvy businessmen and civic leaders. There simply are no weak links in Adam’s connection to the region. It’s a rich background that Adam draws from every day as a respected businessman himself.

A Special Connection
Adam was born in Charles Town and grew up helping work the family’s 800 acres of land. Cattle, hogs, and cherry orchards were his focus until his college years took him to Shepherd University in Shepherdstown. While earning his bachelor’s degree in business, Adam began his 21 years in retail and management. Today, when this busy professional isn’t helping a client with his or her important investment, he continues to plant and cultivate 50 acres of soybeans and wheat.

Living the Good Life
He can rebuild an engine or build a house complete with plumbing and electricity from the ground up—lessons he learned from his father. But an ideal day for Adam and his wife, Diane, is a day spent together in nature. In the past, Adam would fly the Blue Ridge Mountains in autumn. Now, he and Diane hike the Appalachian Trail together. Sometimes they bike, but they’re always together. In the winter, Adam hits the slopes from Jackson Hole to Stowe, Vermont. And whenever he’s not working or spending time with his family, Adam is deeply connected to his community through civic and charity involvement.

Not an Ordinary Vacation!
Not an Ordinary Vacation Last week, local businessman and Realtor Adam Link took a very special trip. Not an ordinary trip, but a trip with purpose to help the residences in Biloxi Mississippi from the raft of storm Katrina. Adam, along with the Lutheran Disaster Response Team and the Community Lutheran Partners of West Virginia wanted to make certain families have a Merry Christmas and got to witness first hand one of Gods many miracles. What a thrill it was to be a part of something so worthwhile, says Adam link, just seeing the faces of each person we helped, light up with amazement that people would come so far to help a stranger. I will never forget this as long as I live. The hope that this team of volunteers passed along to others is priceless and really put a new meaning into The Spirit of Christmas. The hopelessness and despair in everyone faces began to melt away, with each hammer we swung and every nail we forged into the many desperately needed repairs and renovations of the homes of these families in need. It felt like we were helping to repair their spirits as well as their homes, remarked Adam. Adams wife, Diane along with Sara Soltow the executive directory of Community Lutheran Partners, were also very busy making this Christmas a particularly memorable one for over 200 families. We were able to bless these families with over $18,000 in gift certificates and a variety of toys, says Diane. The families were teary eyed and full of smiles and joy, as they received various donated gift certificates and gifts to make this a truly great Christmas after so many disappointments and hardships throughout the last 14 months of the Katrina aftermath. Adam has a New Years Resolution he would like to share with the community of Jefferson and Berkeley Counties of West Virginia. I am going to donate $100 for every home I sell in these counties. I intend to let our local families make a difference in the lives of hundreds if not thousands of less fortunate. Adam is looking forward to helping more families in these very difficult times. It reminded me that Mother nature can strike anywhere and destroy land, crops and in extreme cases, take lives, says Adam, but the vision our ministry has is that we will continue to band together to support one another in times of great difficulty and catastrophes that are beyond our control and can strike any one of us at any time. I love knowing that the money you will be donating to many needy families via the properties you will partner with me in selling, will give renewed hope and encouragement to those in despair. I urge my community together, to help me, in helping others who really need a leg up through yours and my belief and kindness in God and Church.
